Holy Toledo

My friend and I decided to head to Toledo for the day. After a rough start in Madrid (missing the first train) we spent our two hour wait for the next train at La Reina Sofia museum. I was sad to miss seeing Picasso's "Guernica" last weekend. We saw it today.

With our day trip to Toledo cut short, we made use of the cheesy tourist bus. It worked out well for us. We had lunch in Plaza zocovobar, explored the cathedral, saw the castle and took in the amazing view of the landscape from atop the beautiful city.

I looked for the statue of Cervantes. Toledo is the Capitol of Castilla- La Mancha, I wanted desperately to see an old fashioned windmill but to no avail. I did however love the mazopan from the pasteleria, did some shopping, and saw a painting by El Greco.
