Corpus Christi
So each day after breakfast I go walk around. Today, I got lost and then found my way and then came upon a giant mass of people. I came a little closer to the door of the cathedral and found a parade. Apparently, it is a holiday today in Catholic Church. It started with a fabulous lonesome sounding solo trumpet player... Then, a whole band with brass and drums joined him. Then out of the giant cathedral doors came several men in white robes who carried crosses and banners and started marching down the street. The first communion niños followed, and more banners, the band and a giant silver alter looking thing that symbolized the body of Christ. The people lined the streets to watch the slow walk from the cathedral to Plaza de Santa Teresa. Fantastico!

The kids are precious! Love the ceremony stuff in Europe that we are largely missing here in the states. What a find to stumble upon! Fun, fun.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got out and explored... and were rewarded for it!
